Anyone in the sandbox can post to the Bulletin: event recaps, builds you're proud of, scripting tips, sim news. You write the post, send it in as a zipped folder, and it goes up after a quick look-over.

Download the example post. It's already set up, so the easiest way to start is to unzip it and edit it.

What to send

One folder, zipped, with:

  • post.md, your post
  • any pictures or videos the post uses

Name the folder with the date and a few words, lowercase with dashes, like 2026-11-01-halloween-build-night. That name becomes the post's web address.

The post file

post.md is a plain text file. Open it in any text editor (TextEdit, Notepad, VS Code). It starts with a header between two --- lines, then the post itself:

---
title: Halloween Build Night recap
date: 2026-11-01 8:00 PM
author: Your Name
tags: [events, builds]
---
Your post starts here.
  • title: the subject line.
  • date: when it should be dated, in SLT. 8:00 PM, 20:00 or just the day (2026-11-01) all work.
  • author: your Second Life name, or whatever you go by.
  • tags: optional. Use the ones already in the folder list (news, events, builds, guide) or suggest a new one.

Formatting

It's the same formatting as Discord:

  • **bold**, *italic*, __underline__, ~~strikethrough~~
  • # Heading and ## Smaller heading on their own lines
  • lines starting with - make a bullet list, 1. a numbered one
  • lines starting with > make a quote
  • [link text](https://example.com) makes a link, and bare links work too

Leave a blank line between paragraphs.

Pictures and video

Put the files in the folder next to post.md, then put each one on its own line:

![The caption shown under the picture](build-night.jpg)
  • Several picture lines in a row become a grid. Clicking one opens the Picture Viewer.
  • Videos work the same way: ![caption](clip.mp4).
  • For YouTube, paste the link on its own line and it becomes a player.
  • Use JPG or PNG for pictures, ideally under 5 MB each. Keep videos under 50 MB, or put them on YouTube.
  • Use plain file names without spaces: build-night-2.jpg, not Snapshot (2).jpg.

Sending it in

Zip the folder: on a Mac, right-click it and pick Compress. On Windows, right-click it and pick Send to → Compressed (zipped) folder. Then send the zip to Hadet on Discord.

Posts follow the sim rules. Staff may fix typos or trim pictures before posting, and will ask you first about anything bigger.
