Running a build session, a meetup, a contest or a show at the sandbox? Send it in and it goes on the Calendar, where everyone browsing the site can find it.
Download the example event. Change the details and send it back. That's all there is to it.
What the file looks like
Each event is one small text file. Open the example in any text editor (TextEdit, Notepad, VS Code):
# Build Night
When: 2026-11-14 7:00 PM
Link: https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/None%20found/126/125/3072
Open build session at the stage. **Bring prims**, scripts and questions.
# Build Nightis the event's name, and it has to be the first line. When:is the date and start time in SLT.7:00 PM,7 PMand19:00all work. Use the date format shown: year, month, day.Link:is optional. Point it at the spot in the sim (a map link like the one above) or at a page about the event.- After a blank line comes the description, in the same formatting as Discord:
**bold**,*italic*, links and lists all work. Keep it to a few lines.
Events that repeat
For something that happens every week, add two more lines under When::
Repeats: weekly
Until: 2026-12-31
Repeats: weeklyputs it on the same weekday every week from theWhen:date on. Weekly is the only kind of repeat.Until:is optional and stops it after that date. Leave it out for an event that carries on.
Naming the file
Name it with the date and a few words, lowercase with dashes, ending in .md: 2026-11-14-build-night.md. The name isn't shown anywhere; it just keeps the events folder tidy.
Sending it in
Send the file to Hadet on Discord. Once it's added, your event shows up in the Calendar window:
- its day is highlighted on the month grid
- it's listed under Upcoming with the time shown in SLT
- it drops off the list three hours after it starts
Events follow the sim rules. Staff may tidy up the wording, and will check with you before changing anything else.
